About Online Buyer Tips

This web site is run by Gary Overton. I have been buying online since 1995(My 1st item bought online was a book from amazon.com shortly after the site was opened).

Since buying that 1st book in 1995 I have bought hundreds, or maybe thousands, of items online. Many of my friends have asked me over the years to help them find certain items for a good price online so over time I have gotten pretty good at it. Other friends seem to be amazed at some of the great buys I have gotten online over the years.

The idea behind this site is to help you find the great buys online. Not only the great buys from the well-known sites but from the lesser known niche sites. Many times these sites have far better deals than the well-known sites. I also use the site to alert you to coupons online, sweepstakes, etc. If it has anything to do with saving money using the internet I try to post it.

Below you will find the standard disclosure policy. I will try to explain it in plain english. I do receive compensation when you buy some of the items I highlight online, but not all. Whether I receive compensation or not has no bearing whatsoever on whether I post about a particular item. In other words: If it is a good deal I will post it, whether I get paid when you buy it or not. Many times I don’t even know if I am being compensated by the site I am recommending because  one program I am involved in has deals with over 12,000 sites and when I recommend one of those sites and you purchase I am compensated. I know what a few of these sites are but could not begin to keep up with 12,000 site names.

I am a direct affiliate with some web sites. Over the years some writers have tried to convince readers that this is a bad thing. For you it is actually good because every day I get special offers from web sites that I am a direct affiliate with. They make these special offers available to their affiliates because they know the affiliates will promote them. This is a win-win-win. The web site wins because they move a lot of products. You win because you get a good deal you would not have normally received and I win because I get a small commission from the sale.

I am not paid by any site unless you actually make a purchase. This keeps me from recommending anything except the best possible deals I may find.

If you have a particular item you are wanting to buy at the best price possible I will help you find it if you will send me an e-mail to gary@garyoverton.com
You may also e-mail me at that address with any questions, concerns, etc you might have about this site.

Even more important, if you know of a special deal and you would like for everyone to know about it also e-mail me with the details and the URL.
